What is usually a fixture with few scoring chances this game re wrote the records for anyone watching could not have predicted the outcome of this game after the first 20 mins.
Alnwick got off to their worst start possible, Ponteland scoring in the first minute after the ball was lost soon after Alnwick kicked off the ball being played in between Murray and Patterson in the Alnwick defence and Andrews slotted the ball past Brookes.
On 10 mins Alnwick fell further behind an in swinging cross in to the six yard area from Mciver was not dealt with and evaded everyone bounced in the six yard area and beat Brookes.


Alnwick were being torn apart at the back and Ponteland could have went further in front but for poor finishing as they squandered two more opportunities.
It was turning in to a horror show for Alnwick on 20 mins as they fell further behind the ball fell to Holden on the edge of the area to fire home from 25 yards.
Alnwick soon changed their system to try and get a grip of the Ponteland midfield that were at this point running riot on the large sports centre field.
Alnwick should have pulled a goal back on 25 mins John Colly glancing header just going wide of the mark. Alnwick then had another great chance after Colly outpaced the defence and his placed shot was saved by the keeper and Colly just put the rebound past the post under pressure from a Ponteland defender.
Alnwick were thrown a lifeline on 40 mins, Danny Lowes breaking free on the right running 30 yards cutting in to the box and smashing the ball in to the net from 18 yards wide of the keeper.
The second half was predictably going to be an open game as Alnwick chased another goal, Brookes was called upon to make two fine saves thwarting two scoring opportunities.
Alnwick grabbed their second goal Ben Keenen beating his man in the area and crossing the ball over for Tony Brown to place a looping header over the keeper.
Dean Edwards then had a glorious chance as he cut in from the left only to be foiled by a great stop from the keeper.
Alnwick were all over Ponteland at this point and on 70 mins Scott McMullen delivered a great cross to the near post for Tom Vickers to fire the ball home off the underside of the crossbar to level the game.
Alnwick had two fantastic chances after this Vickers breaking free and his chipped effort was saved by the home keeper. Keenan then outstripped the defence but failed to steer the ball past the keeper.
There could have been one last twist to the game in the last minute as Ponteland threw the ball in to the area for an almighty scramble to take place reminiscent of a Shrove Tuesday math at Alnwick pastures fortunately the ball was cleared.
